Changes Proposed to Tackle Alcohol-Fuelled Violence in Sydney

New laws proposed by NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell will attempt to curb alcohol-fuelled violence in the heart of Sydney.

The proposed laws include expanded lockout zones, no new liquor licences, the statewide closure of bottle shops at 10pm, and preventing licensed premises in the Sydney CBD from serving drinks after 3:00am.

Small bars, casinos, restaurants and tourist accommodation facilities will be exempt from the proposed laws.
